The safe fire behavior (BKZ 5.2) and excellent sound absorption are the most important advantages of Basotect® melamine foam for its use in splitter silencers in air conditioning or ventilation systems.

Application for noise reduction
The inner walls of fan housings are also lined with Basotect® melamine foam to reduce the noise level. Thanks to the flow-optimized design and the resulting low pressure loss, highly effective sound absorption can be achieved with Basotect® melamine foam in ventilation components such as silencers, air overflow elements, fans, etc.

Additional properties, such as low weight (9 kg/m³), low flammability and high temperature resistance, favor the use of Basotect® melamine foam in HVAC applications.

Hygienic advantages
Basotect® melamine resin foam also meets hygiene requirements and is free of mineral and glass fibers, meaning that no mineral or glass fibers can enter the room air.
