Sound insulation of ventilation ducts - inside and outside

1

Sound insulation of interior air conditioning ducts

Due to the air transported in ventilation systems, ventilation ducts can generate unwanted noise, which must be eliminated accordingly. The noise can also be transmitted from room to room by structure-borne sound emanating from the ventilation ducts. Another effective material is therefore essential to consider efficient sound insulation when it comes to creating a comfortable living or working environment. Melamine foams Basotect® G+ with various surface laminations are flexible, open-cell foams made of melamine resin, a thermosetting plastic. The high sound absorption capacity and safe behavior in the event of fire favor melamine foams for use in many ventilation systems and sound absorbers.

2

Sound insulation of exterior air conditioning ducts

The combination material Teroform® plastic heavy layer with a PUR foam layer is another effective means of soundproofing ventilation ducts. The duct or ventilation pipe is encased in Teroform® and thus insulates the flow noise.
