Vibration isolation measures for washing machines

To reduce vibrations and increase the stability of the washing machine, there are two options: a complete damping mat or four rubberized washers for the feet.

The four washing machine dampers from AEG Electrolux are a tried and tested product. These are placed directly under the feet of the machine and ensure a firm stand so that the appliance no longer wanders around the room. The washing machine remains stable even during intensive spin cycles with a full load. At the same time, vibrations are effectively dampened so that less noise is transmitted to the floor and the appliance runs more quietly overall. In addition, the dampers extend the service life of the machine as they also cushion the vibrations caused by the drum.

An alternative are complete damping mats, which are placed under the entire machine. These offer better stability than an undamped surface, but there is a risk that the washing machine will continue to move slightly on them. In the worst case scenario, a slight imbalance can even cause it to slip off the mat and cause damage.

In addition to the reduced stability, the appearance is a disadvantage, as the mats are usually black and always visible. Water can also collect under the mat, for example when cleaning the fluff filter, which makes cleaning more difficult.

We clearly recommend the first variant with four washers. It offers the best hold, minimizes vibrations and also makes it easier to clean the floor under the machine. This solution is also visually less conspicuous and more functional.
