The 65 Shore A Premium chloroprene rubber sheet is the highest-performance CR grade in our range and is designed for demanding technical applications. Its medium-hardness rating of 65 ± 5 Shore A provides high dimensional stability combined with good elasticity, making it suitable for seals, pads and protective coatings subjected to heavy-duty use.
The difference lies in its resistance profile: the sheet offers good resistance to ozone, diluted acids and alkalis, and – unlike standard rubber grades – to oils. It offers moderate resistance to concentrated acids, alkalis and solvents, which is why these media must be assessed on a case-by-case basis. It therefore covers a significantly broader range of applications and is a reliable choice for oil-containing environments in mechanical and plant engineering.
In mechanical terms, the quality is impressive, with a minimum tensile strength of 100 kg/cm² (approximately 9.8 MPa), an elongation at break of at least 400 %, a compression set of no more than 40 % and a tear strength of 25 kg/cm. Following heat ageing at 70 °C, the properties remain stable within tight tolerances. The operating temperature range is from –30 °C to +120 °C.
With a density of 1.40 g/cm³ and a black finish, the sheet is highly versatile and available both by the metre and as custom-cut pieces.
