Soft EPDM rubber sheet (30 Shore A)
Soft EPDM rubber sheet (30 Shore A) – adaptable and weather-resistant
The soft EPDM rubber sheet with a Shore A hardness of 30 is designed for sealing applications where adaptability is of paramount importance. Thanks to its low hardness, it moulds perfectly to uneven or rough surfaces and reliably compensates for large dimensional tolerances. This makes it the right choice for flat seals, elastic pads and wherever a soft, pliable sealing surface is required – for example, in plant and vessel construction, building services engineering, or for covers and sleeves.

The soft EPDM rubber sheet with 30 Shore A is designed for sealing applications where adaptability is of paramount importance. Thanks to its low hardness, it moulds perfectly to uneven or rough surfaces and reliably compensates for large dimensional tolerances. This makes it the right choice for flat seals, elastic pads and wherever a soft, pliable sealing surface is required – for example, in plant and vessel construction, building services engineering or for covers and sleeves.
As is typical of EPDM, the material offers excellent resistance to weathering, ozone and UV radiation and retains its properties even after prolonged exposure to the elements. It also offers high chemical resistance: excellent resistance to concentrated acids and alkalis as well as to ozone, and good resistance to diluted acids and alkalis. However, EPDM is generally not suitable for contact with oils and solvents – in such cases, an oil-resistant grade should be used instead.
Despite its softness, the sheet offers solid mechanical properties: a minimum tensile strength of 90 kg/cm² (approximately 8.8 MPa), a high elongation at break of at least 450 % and a low compression set of no more than 40 %, which ensures good resilience and a lasting sealing effect. The operating temperature range extends from –30 °C to +125 °C. With a particularly low density of 1.05 g/cm³, the sheet is also lightweight – an advantage for large-scale applications.
In black, the soft EPDM sheet is easy to cut to size, die-cut and processed into moulded seals, and is available by the metre as well as as a bespoke cut-to-size sheet.
