Plastazote® MP 15 FR – ultra-lightweight flame-retardant foam
Plastazote® MP 15 FR is a high-performance, closed-cell PE foam with low density and flame-retardant properties, which has proven itself in numerous technical applications. Its thermoplastic nature, combined with a fine-pored cell structure, ensures excellent thermal insulation whilst remaining very lightweight. This foam really comes into its own particularly in areas where conventional insulation materials are too heavy or too sensitive to moisture.

Plastazote® MP 15 FR is a high-performance, closed-cell PE foam with low density and flame-retardant properties, which has proven itself in numerous technical applications. Its thermoplastic nature, combined with a fine-pored cell structure, ensures excellent thermal insulation whilst remaining very lightweight. This foam really comes into its own particularly in areas where conventional insulation materials are too heavy or too sensitive to moisture.
In addition to thermal insulation, Plastazote® MP 15 FR also offers limited sound absorption in the mid to high frequency range. This makes it ideal for applications where both thermal insulation and improved acoustic properties are required. The closed-cell structure makes the material water-repellent, dimensionally stable and extremely durable, which significantly broadens its range of applications.
Its main area of application is in vehicle construction, particularly where insulation materials are subjected to high stresses. In side panels, headliners and hollow floor systems, the foam helps to reduce heat loss, minimise resonance and enhance ride comfort. Thanks to its flame-retardant properties, Plastazote® MP 15 FR also meets important safety requirements, making it suitable for more demanding technical applications such as machine casings, transport containers, aerospace components or electronic enclosures.
The foam can be easily cut, milled, thermoformed or bonded, enabling the creation of both simple and complex contours without difficulty. Thanks to this excellent workability, the material is ideal for both series production and bespoke solutions.
Delivery form
The material is supplied as standard in the form of unedged sheets and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut-to-size piece according to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.
The sheets are supplied in film packaging and must be stored in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct UV light must be avoided.
