Silphon® flat foam combines effective sound absorption with an attractive and robust finish. Its open-cell polyurethane foam specifically absorbs sound waves, particularly in the mid-frequency range, thereby ensuring noticeably quieter room acoustics. The special PVC skin with a perforated surface gives the foam a stylish appearance whilst protecting it from mechanical stress.
The applied PVC skin is perforated, ensuring that the acoustic performance of the foam is fully preserved. At the same time, the surface protects against mechanical impact, dirt and wear. Another advantage: the foam is available in multiple SKUs across various colour options – e.g., beige, grey, or black. This allows acoustic elements to be tailored specifically to the respective room design, whether subtly understated or deliberately used as a design accent.
The reverse side features a practical self-adhesive backing, enabling easy installation without the need for additional fixing materials. The elements can be attached quickly and permanently to smooth, clean surfaces.
The flat foam with perforated PVC skin is primarily used in rooms where both acoustic optimisation and an attractive appearance are required. Typical examples include offices, schools, auditoriums, reception areas, studios and modern living spaces. There, it improves speech intelligibility, creates a more pleasant soundscape and, thanks to the wide range of colours, blends harmoniously into the architecture.
The combination of acoustic efficiency, robust surface protection, variable colour options and simple installation makes Silphon® flat foam with perforated PVC skin a flexible solution for numerous sound and noise insulation projects.
Delivery form
The material is supplied as standard in the form of unedged sheets and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut-to-size piece according to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.
The sheets are supplied in film packaging and must be stored in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct UV light must be avoided.
