Silphon® PUR square-profile foam

Silphon® square-profile foam is a high-quality acoustic foam made from open-cell polyurethane, specially developed for use in demanding environments. Its distinctive, square surface structure creates an irregular, angular shape that specifically scatters sound and significantly increases the effective surface area for absorption. Sound waves are thus reflected and refracted multiple times and absorbed into the foam’s cellular structure. In this way, reverberation times are shortened, unwanted reflections are reduced and balanced acoustics are created.

The square profile not only delivers technical benefits but also adds visual interest, giving spaces a modern, technical aesthetic and making it particularly well-suited for acoustic elements that are deliberately integrated into interior design. The foam thus fulfills two key requirements: high acoustic performance and aesthetic design.

With a standard size of 300 × 300 × 45 mm, the square-profile foam can be used flexibly, whether as a single panel, mounted in rows, or as a full-surface wall or ceiling solution. As it is supplied without self-adhesive backing, the method of fixing is entirely up to the user: from mounting adhesives and frames to modular plug-in systems. This allows for flexible adaptation to different projects and makes the product equally suitable for temporary or mobile applications.

Thanks to its low weight, the material is easy to handle, simple to cut to size and flexible to install. The open-cell structure ensures a long-lasting acoustic effect, as it reliably absorbs sound whilst remaining air-permeable. Silphon® square-profile foam thus offers a durable, economical and functional solution for a wide variety of acoustic projects.
