Sylomer® FR

Sylomer® FR is a specially developed, flame-retardant variant of the proven Sylomer® vibration isolation material, combining elasticity, spring and damping properties with proven fire resistance. The elastic polyurethane material features a mixed-cell pore structure that both elastically reduces vibrations and reliably absorbs dynamic forces – even in demanding technical environments.

Thanks to its integrated flame-retardant particles, Sylomer® FR meets high fire safety requirements and is used, among other things, in applications where, in addition to vibration isolation, increased protection against fire and smoke development is required. This combination makes the material particularly suitable for safety-critical applications where both mechanical decoupling and fire protection in accordance with standards such as EN 45545-2 are required – for example, in rail vehicle construction or public transport, where the highest safety standards apply.

The permanently elastic material structure of Sylomer® FR enables consistent vibration isolation across a wide load range and helps to minimise structure-borne noise transmission in buildings or machinery. The combined action of springing and damping efficiently reduces vibrations, which not only improves comfort in vehicles and buildings but also extends the service life of components and building structures.

Sylomer® FR is available in several grades and, thanks to its good processability, can be integrated into a wide variety of technical applications. Whether as elastic mountings under machine foundations, in rail vehicles, vehicle bodies or building structures – this fire-retardant vibration isolation offers a reliable solution when, in addition to vibration protection, compliance with demanding fire safety requirements is also required.
