Silphon® PUR dimpled foam
Silphon® PUR dimpled foam – Open-cell, profiled acoustic solution
Silphon® dimpled foam is a specially developed acoustic foam made of polyurethane, which stands out due to its characteristic dimpled shape. The profiled surface significantly increases the effective surface area and ensures that sound waves are refracted multiple times and absorbed by the material. In combination with the open-cell structure, this results in broadband sound absorption that reliably reduces disruptive noise and ensures significantly improved acoustics. The foam is therefore ideally suited for both interior architectural applications and technical noise protection solutions.

With a density of approximately 25 kg/m³, Silphon® offers a balanced combination of elasticity and stability. It has high thermal resistance and, depending on the version, can be used in temperature ranges from –10 °C to +120 °C. The self-adhesive version can be used up to +75 °C.
Its applications are versatile: the dimpled foam is used in room acoustics, in sound and voice booths, on test benches, in machine and equipment cladding, or for sound insulation of power units and ventilation systems. It offers an efficient solution particularly where noise needs to be reduced whilst simultaneously saving weight.
Depending on the version, it is also available in a self-adhesive form, which makes installation on smooth surfaces much easier. All versions remain easy to work with: cutting, fitting and installation can be carried out without the need for complex tools, allowing it to be flexibly adapted to individual requirements.
Thanks to its unobtrusive colour scheme, the dimpled foam blends discreetly into a variety of environments and is therefore suitable not only for technical applications but also for visible acoustic solutions in interior spaces. It thus represents a balanced combination of function, flexibility and efficiency – a versatile sound absorber that can be reliably used in many areas.
Delivery form
The material is supplied as standard in the form of unedged sheets and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut-to-size piece according to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.
The sheets are supplied in film packaging and must be stored in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct UV light must be avoided.
