Another major advantage: spherical bearings are completely maintenance-free. Water, dirt or other environmental influences have little effect on their function, as the elastic material remains permanently flexible and resilient. The integrated elastomer layer effectively reduces structure-borne noise and prevents unwanted vibrations from being transmitted to adjacent components. This makes spherical bearings particularly suitable for applications in vehicle construction, such as in brake levers, steering columns, and bearing assemblies in buses, lorries and other commercial vehicles.
