The Vibra® cube ceiling system made from Basotect® B melamine foam is a particularly cost-effective and effective solution for optimising room acoustics. The open-cell high-performance foam absorbs sound across a broad frequency spectrum, thereby reducing reverberation times, background noise and unpleasant sound reflections in rooms. Thanks to its excellent balance between acoustic performance and investment costs, the system ranks among the most efficient absorption solutions for a wide variety of applications.

The cube ceilings can be installed quickly and easily, and can even be self-installed if required. The system is suitable for virtually all room geometries, is lightweight and places hardly any load on existing ceiling structures. The cube-shaped arrangement creates an enlarged absorption surface, which further enhances the acoustic effect and leads to significant improvements in room acoustics even at low installation heights.

Vibra® cube ceilings are used in offices, meeting and conference rooms, schools, nurseries, restaurants, studios, rehearsal rooms, reception areas, healthcare and therapy rooms, public buildings, and anywhere where speech intelligibility, concentration or acoustic comfort are crucial. They can also be used in production and industrial areas to reduce noise levels and make working environments more pleasant.

The Basotect® B melamine foams used are characterised by their low weight, high resistance to ageing and temperature, and their flame-retardant properties, which ensure additional safety in use. Various formats, thicknesses and colour options allow for visual adaptation to architectural and design requirements.

Delivery form

The acoustic cubes are supplied as standard cubes made from Basotect® G+ and can also be manufactured to custom dimensions. The standard panels are supplied as unedged raw panels – this means you receive the material in standard dimensions with guaranteed usable dimensions, although a slight overhang is possible.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

A: Basotect® B is the standard version of BASF’s melamine foam, without the additional elasticity of Basotect® G+. G+ is more flexible, easier to process and better suited to applications involving vibration or mechanical stress. Basotect® B is ideal for purely acoustic applications where maximum sound absorption combined with ease of processing is required.
A: Basotect® B is frequently used in recording studios, broadcasting and film studios, conference rooms and offices where high sound absorption at mid and high frequencies is required. Basotect® B is also the material of choice in the field of measurement acoustics and in test chambers where defined acoustic conditions are necessary.
A: Yes. Like all Basotect® variants, Basotect® B is inherently flame-retardant and meets fire resistance class B1 in accordance with DIN 4102-1. External impregnation or lamination is not necessary for fire protection.
A: Yes. Vibraplast manufactures Basotect® B as cubes in various standard sizes, as well as custom-made to individual dimensions. Enquiries can be submitted directly via the shop or using the contact form.
