The Silphon®acoustic PET ceiling sphere combines innovative acoustic technology with a striking design element and is designed for interiors where sound quality, appearance and material sustainability are equally important. Made from recycled PET felt with an open-pored structure, the sphere serves as a suspended acoustic absorber: when mounted on ceilings, it specifically reduces reverberation times and reflections that occur particularly in large, reverberant rooms with high ceilings or many smooth surfaces.
Thanks to its round shape, sound is addressed equally in all directions within the room; sound waves are captured and dampened internally within the material. Installation is straightforward using wire or rope suspension and allows the sphere to be positioned directly above lounge, work or communication areas – where the acoustic effect is most noticeable. Its low weight and slim design simplify installation, making the sphere ideal for retrofitting in existing spaces.
The core material meets modern standards for sustainability and quality: the PET felt is made from recycled plastic bottles, is easy to maintain, retains its shape and is aesthetically pleasing. At the same time, it offers excellent acoustic properties across a broad frequency spectrum.
