PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a first-class sealing material that impresses with its exceptional chemical resistance, outstanding sealing performance and stability under high pressure and temperature loads. Thanks to its unique molecular structure, PTFE is one of the most versatile and durable materials in the field of industrial sealing technology.
PTFE is completely non-stick, hydrophobic, resistant to ageing and weathering, and remains dimensionally stable and functional even at extreme temperatures. This makes it ideal for use in chemically aggressive media, oxidising acids, alkalis, solvents, fuels or gaseous media.
Typical areas of application include the chemical and petrochemical industries, plant and equipment engineering, the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as use in cleanrooms or process-oriented production facilities where the highest levels of purity, durability and sealing performance are required.
Furthermore, PTFE is characterised by excellent electrical insulation properties and a low coefficient of friction, which means it is also used in dynamic sealing systems or as a sliding and insulating material.
We supply PTFE in various grades and forms – as a pure white standard material, filled PTFE (e.g. with glass fibre, graphite or bronze) for improved mechanical properties, or as modified PTFE with reduced cold flow. Available in standard sheet format or cut to your individual specifications, manufactured to exact dimensions – ensuring your seal fits perfectly and provides a permanently reliable seal.
