Vibra®cell PE packaging foams have been specially developed to reliably protect sensitive products during transport and storage. Manufactured from extruded polyethylene with a closed-cell structure, they combine high dimensional stability with exceptional elasticity. This enables them to effectively absorb shocks, distribute loads evenly and prevent pressure marks or scratches on surfaces.
A major advantage lies in the material’s technical properties: with a density of approx. 35 kg/m³ and a compression hardness of around 95 kPa, the foams provide a robust basis for versatile applications. Tensile strength reaches up to 0.44 N/mm² in the longitudinal direction and 0.28 N/mm² in the transverse direction, whilst the elongation at break exceeds 100%. Its tear strength is also impressive, at up to 1700 N/m. Even under high loads, the material returns almost completely to its original shape thanks to its low compression set. Furthermore, it is moisture-resistant, chemical-resistant and retains its shape even under temperature fluctuations.
These properties make Vibra®cell a versatile material for packaging solutions: as single-use packaging for lightweight products, in box and case liners, for reusable and shuttle packaging, or as padding in export packaging. Thanks to its ease of processing – cutting, punching, slitting or welding – custom shapes and cut-to-size pieces can be produced.
Compared to alternatives such as Ethafoam, Vibra®cell demonstrates clear strengths, particularly in its elastic recovery and dynamic load-bearing capacity. Whilst Ethafoam scores highly for its particularly high dimensional stability during milling, Vibra®cell is ideally suited for applications where flexibility, energy absorption and a pleasant feel are paramount. Antistatic variants are also available on request, ensuring that even sensitive electronics can be reliably protected.

Delivery form
Vibra®cell PE packaging foams are supplied as standard as untrimmed sheets in black and white. They are available in various thicknesses and can be cut to size and finished to customer specifications on request. Packaged in film, these sheets are ideal for further processing in the protective packaging sector.
