Basic EPDM/SBR rubber sheet with fabric reinforcement (70 Shore A)

The standard EPDM/SBR-based rubber sheet with fabric reinforcement is a cost-effective, textile-reinforced all-purpose product for large-area applications subject to mechanical stress. The embedded fabric reinforcement gives the sheet significantly greater dimensional stability than rubber sheets without reinforcement: it prevents elongation or warping under tension, increases the tear strength of the composite and makes it easier to lay over large areas as rolls. The sheet is available in two versions – with a single insert for basic reinforcement and with two inserts for even greater dimensional stability in the case of greater thicknesses and larger areas. Typical applications include industrial pads and covers, protective surfacing and underlays for indoor use and outdoor areas subject to moderate loads.

Mechanically, the material offers a minimum tensile strength of 4 MPa (approximately 40 kg/cm²) with an elongation at break of at least 200 %, a compression set of no more than 50 % and a tear strength of 18 kg/cm. The operating temperature range is from –30 °C to +90 °C.
The intended use is crucial for selecting the right material: this standard grade offers moderate weather and ozone resistance and is suitable for simple applications not subject to continuous exposure to the elements. It is not designed for prolonged contact with oils, concentrated acids, alkalis or solvents. For demanding outdoor, UV or chemical applications, we recommend our pure EPDM grade.

With a density of 1,45 g/cm³ and a black finish, the fabric-reinforced sheet can be cut to size and fabricated, and is available as sheets, rolls or made-to-measure cuts. Thinner sheets are reinforced with a single layer, whilst thicker ones are reinforced with two layers.
