The Aqua EPDM rubber sheet with a Shore A hardness of 70 is the top-quality product in our EPDM range and is specifically designed for use in drinking water applications. It holds drinking water approvals in accordance with KTW (German Drinking Water Guideline) and WRAS (British Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) and is therefore suitable for direct contact with drinking water. We can provide the relevant certificates of conformity on request. Typical applications include seals, membranes and gaskets in drinking water supply systems, in plumbing and building services, and in water treatment.

In terms of mechanical properties, this grade sets the benchmark within the range. With a minimum tensile strength of 115 kg/cm² (approximately 11,3 MPa), an elongation at break of at least 370 % and an excellent tear strength of 40 kg/cm, it is exceptionally robust and resilient. Particularly noteworthy is the very low compression set of no more than 12 %: this ensures excellent resilience and thus a permanently reliable sealing effect – a decisive advantage for permanently compressed seals. Even after heat ageing at 70 °C, the properties remain exceptionally stable with minimal deviations.

As is typical of high-quality EPDM, the sheet also offers outstanding resistance to weathering, ozone and UV radiation, as well as to diluted and concentrated acids and alkalis. EPDM is not suitable for contact with oils and solvents. The operating temperature range is from –30 °C to +120 °C.

The sheet features a smooth finish on both sides and, with a density of just 1,15 g/cm³, is the lightest in the range. In its black version, it can be precisely cut to size, die-cut and processed into moulded seals – available by the metre and as bespoke cut-to-size sheets for demanding applications in the water and hygiene sectors.
