EPDM rubber sheet – EN 45545
EPDM rubber sheet 62 Shore A – certified fire protection in accordance with EN 45545
Our EPDM rubber sheets with a hardness of 62 ± 5 Shore A have been specially developed for applications where high mechanical strength must be combined with compliance with strict safety standards. They meet the requirements of the European fire safety standard EN 45545-2, which is mandatory in rail vehicle construction. Particularly important: the tested and approved fire protection properties apply from a material thickness of 3 mm, meaning that the sheets in this range provide a reliable basis for use in safety-critical areas.

Our EPDM rubber sheets with a hardness of 62 ± 5 Shore A have been specially developed for applications where, in addition to high mechanical strength, strict safety standards must also be met. They comply with the requirements of the European fire safety standard EN 45545-2, which is mandatory in rail vehicle construction. Particularly important: the tested and approved fire protection properties apply from a material thickness of 3 mm, making the sheets a reliable basis for use in safety-critical areas.
EPDM is a synthetic elastomer known for its outstanding resistance to ozone, UV radiation and weathering. These properties make the sheets attractive not only in the rail vehicle sector, but also wherever materials must remain stable and functional for many years under demanding environmental conditions. Added to this is excellent resistance to hot water, steam, many chemicals, and diluted acids and alkalis, which further expands the range of applications.
With a hardness of around 62 Shore A, the sheets offer a balanced combination of flexibility and dimensional stability. They are elastic enough to reliably seal even uneven surfaces, whilst remaining stable enough to be used as load-bearing seals, buffers or protective pads. This makes them ideal for seals in the interior fittings of rail vehicles, technical insulation, soundproofing applications or as vibration-damping underlays.
EPDM’s temperature resistance ranges from –40 °C to +120 °C, and can even withstand temperatures up to +140 °C for short periods. This ensures the sheets remain functional even under extreme climatic fluctuations. Another advantage is their ease of processing: EPDM rubber sheets can be easily cut to size, die-cut, bonded or machined. Whether as a whole sheet, strips or custom-cut pieces – they can be flexibly adapted to individual projects.
Delivery form
Rubber rolls are supplied as continuous rolls as standard, but can be cut to size and finished entirely according to your wishes, drawings or technical requirements.
In addition to simple strips or cut-to-length sections, we also manufacture precision injection-moulded parts, CNC-cut profiles and complex rubber-metal components that are precisely tailored to your application.
