EPDM rubber sheet - FDA

Our EPDM rubber sheets impress with their exceptional resistance to weathering, ozone and UV radiation. Whilst other elastomers quickly deteriorate when exposed to the elements over time, EPDM sheets retain their flexibility and mechanical properties even after many years of use. This makes them an ideal material for applications requiring consistent performance in harsh environments.

Another key benefit is its high chemical resistance. EPDM withstands water, hot steam, diluted acids and alkalis, as well as cleaning agents and many polar media. This makes the material suitable not only for traditional outdoor applications, but also for technical systems in building services, the automotive industry or mechanical engineering. Whether used for seals in heating and water systems, as elastic padding in industrial plants, or in the form of custom-cut sheets for specialised solutions – EPDM consistently demonstrates its versatility.

It is particularly worth noting that our sheets are available in Shore A hardness grades of 25, 50 and 70. This selection allows for precise adaptation to the specific application. The soft 25 Shore A grade adapts perfectly to uneven surfaces and is ideal for seals that need to compensate for large tolerances. The medium variant at 50 Shore A offers a balanced combination of elasticity and stability and is considered a universal all-rounder. The hardest version at 70 Shore A is particularly dimensionally stable and durable, making it ideal for heavily loaded surfaces and mechanically stressed applications.

Regardless of the hardness selected, all grades possess excellent mechanical properties. They are characterised by high tensile strength, considerable elongation at break and low compression set. Even under dynamic loads, the sheets retain their shape and function. They also perform reliably under temperature fluctuations: the operating range extends from approximately –40 °C to +120 °C, and even up to +140 °C for short periods. This makes them a safe choice in both cold environments and areas with increased heat generation.

Processing the EPDM rubber sheets is straightforward. They can be easily cut to size, die-cut, glued or machined, and can thus be flexibly adapted to individual requirements. This makes them suitable both for large-scale use as flooring or protective coverings and for precision-manufactured technical seals and moulded parts.
