The standard NBR/SBR-based rubber sheet with a hardness of 50 Shore A is a cost-effective, general-purpose grade for simple technical applications. Its medium-soft consistency makes it versatile and well-suited for use as a support, intermediate layer, separating layer or protective underlay in dry indoor environments where an elastic rubber surface is required at an affordable price.
Mechanically, the sheet offers a minimum tensile strength of 40 kg/cm² (approximately 3.9 MPa) with an elongation at break of at least 200 %, a compression set of no more than 40 % and a tear strength of 18 kg/cm. The operating temperature range is from –30 °C to +90 °C.
The intended use is crucial for selecting the correct material: this standard grade is designed for simple mechanical applications and is not suitable for prolonged contact with oils, acids, alkalis or solvents; its ozone resistance is also limited. For oil-resistant applications, we recommend our pure NBR grade; for weather- and chemical-resistant applications, our EPDM grade.
With a density of 1.45 g/cm³ and a black finish, the sheet is easy to cut to size, punch and process – available by the metre and as bespoke cut-to-size sheets.
