The standard NR/SBR 70 Shore A rubber sheet is a cost-effective, general-purpose grade for simple technical tasks. It is suitable wherever an elastic, dimensionally stable rubber underlay is required at an affordable price – for example, as a support, intermediate layer, separating layer or protective underlay in dry indoor environments. With its firm composition (70 Shore A), it offers impressive compressive strength and load-bearing capacity. It is the ideal choice for applications requiring a stable base.

Mechanically, depending on the version, the sheet offers a minimum tensile strength of around 30 to 40 kg/cm² (around 3–4 MPa) with an elongation at break of at least 200 %, a compression set of 40 to 50 % and a tear strength of around 18 kg/cm. The operating temperature range varies depending on the compound, from approximately –20 to –30 °C to +70 to +90 °C.

The intended application is crucial for selecting the correct material: this standard grade is designed for simple mechanical applications and is not suitable for prolonged contact with oils, acids, alkalis or solvents; its resistance to ozone and weathering is also limited. For oil-resistant applications, we recommend our NBR or NBR/PVC grades, for weather- and chemical-resistant applications our EPDM grade, and for high-abrasion applications our natural rubber grade Vibra®Para.

With a density of around 1,45 to 1,50 g/cm³ and a black finish, the sheet is easy to cut to size, die-cut and fabricate – available by the metre and as bespoke cut-to-size sheets.
