The food-grade SBR rubber sheet is a cost-effective material for simple applications involving food contact. Its light-coloured, tasteless and odourless design makes it a practical choice as a support, underlay, separator or work mat wherever a clean, food-safe rubber surface is required at an affordable price – for example, in food processing, in packaging areas or as a protective and support material. The material is designed as a food-grade product for food contact; we can provide the relevant certificate of conformity on request.

Mechanically, with a hardness of 60 ± 5 Shore A, the sheet offers a minimum tensile strength of 60 kg/cm² (approximately 5.9 MPa), an elongation at break of at least 200 %, a compression set of no more than 40 % and a tear strength of 20 kg/cm. Following heat ageing at 70 °C, the properties remain stable within tight tolerances. The operating temperature range extends from –30 °C to +70 °C.

The intended application is crucial for selecting the correct material: SBR is designed for dry, mechanical applications and is not suitable for prolonged contact with oils, greases, acids, alkalis, solvents or for weathered outdoor applications. For food-grade applications involving cleaning chemicals, oils or higher temperatures, we recommend our more resistant food-grade grades made from EPDM, CR or FKM.

With a density of 1.50 g/cm³ and its light-coloured finish, the SBR food-grade sheet is easy to cut to size, die-cut and process – available by the metre and as bespoke cut-to-size sheets.
