Vibra® Gran Stark

Vibra® Gran Stark is a particularly heavy-duty protective mat made from SBR rubber granules bound with polyurethane (PU). As a reinforced version, it not only protects building waterproofing, sheeting, insulation and membranes from mechanical damage, but is specifically designed for areas where higher mechanical loads or increased tear resistance are required. It is tough and elastic, exhibits high compressive, impact and tensile strength, and, thanks to its open-cell structure, is water-permeable, vapour-permeable and moisture-resistant.

Typical applications include heavily used flat roofs and green roofs, waterproofing in underground car parks, as well as car parks and traffic areas where increased point and surface loads occur. The mat is laid loosely or bonded to the waterproofing layer; the strips are overlapped by a hand’s width and then immediately covered with gravel, soil, slabs or the subsequent structure.

The material is resistant to water, numerous diluted acids and alkalis, as well as to UV radiation, and is chemically neutral. Mechanically, the mat offers a tensile strength of over 0.8 N/mm² with an elongation at break of 67 % – significantly higher values than the standard version. Its fire behaviour is classified as Class Efl (normally flammable, B2) in accordance with EN 13501. The operating temperature range extends from –30 °C to +80 °C (up to –120 °C when at rest and up to +300 °C for short periods).

Vibra®Gran Stark is available in a roll width of 1,250 mm (uncut) and in thicknesses of 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 mm; roll lengths range from 4 to 20 m depending on thickness; sheet sizes are available on request. With a density of around 850 kg/m³, the mat is robust, easy to cut to size and easy to lay.
