Manufactured from open-cell melamine resin foam Basotect® B in elegant white, this panel combines low mass with high absorption performance across a wide frequency range, making it ideal for offices, reception areas, studios, catering establishments and commercial use.
The octagonal geometry (octagon shape) not only contributes to the stylish appearance but also actively enhances the acoustic effect: through edges, surfaces and targeted shaping, sound waves are refracted, scattered and effectively dampened within the material structure. Available in standard sizes, custom dimensions and specific cut-to-size panels ‘Swiss made’ can also be produced on request to precisely accommodate individual room geometries.
In terms of material properties, the Basotect® B variant impresses with an excellent fire safety rating: classified according to DIN 4102 B1 (“flame-retardant”) as well as BKZ 5.2, it offers safe use even in public buildings, commercial properties or sensitive areas of use. The open-cell foam structure efficiently absorbs incident sound energy; instead of reflections, the sound waves are converted into heat, thereby significantly reducing reverberation times and creating noticeably more pleasant room acoustics.
Installation is extremely straightforward: thanks to its low weight and flat design, the panel can be either glued directly to wall or ceiling surfaces or mechanically fixed, as well as mounted as a free-hanging ceiling element. It is particularly suitable for use in areas with high ceilings or large room volumes where hard surfaces such as concrete, glass or metal dominate and targeted sound absorption is required. This creates a quiet, controlled acoustic environment with improved speech intelligibility, reduced noise levels and greater room comfort.
