The acoustic cubes made from Basotect® G+ melamine foam represent a highly effective solution for improving room acoustics, ideal for open-plan offices, call centres, studios, training rooms, production halls or any other space where clarity, tranquillity and targeted sound absorption are required. With an extremely low density of approx. 9 kg/m³, the system offers an excellent ratio of effectiveness to installation effort, making it an unrivalled, cost-effective choice.

The cubes are supplied in standardised geometries and can be easily installed with rear ventilation or directly mounted. You benefit from the key material properties of Basotect® G+ foam: open-cell structure, high sound absorption values, excellent fire performance (fire protection class BKZ 5.2) and a thermal conductivity of approximately 0.032 W/m·K. In practice, this means that incident sound is scattered, reflected and converted into heat within the cube, significantly reducing reverberation times whilst creating pleasant room acoustics.

The installation of these acoustic cubes is just as well thought-out as the material itself. Thanks to their low density and precise cut-to-size dimensions, they can be installed with minimal effort, even in retrofit situations where existing rooms are to be acoustically optimised. The cube structure is suitable for free-standing room design (e.g. suspended ceiling installations, acoustic screens) as well as for integrated acoustic solutions along wall or ceiling surfaces. We supply these products as bespoke solutions – meaning that custom cuts, special dimensions or special coatings are possible to meet your exact requirements.

Delivery form

The acoustic cubes are supplied as standard cubes made from Basotect® G+ and can also be manufactured to custom dimensions. The standard panels are supplied as unedged raw panels – this means you receive the material in standard dimensions with guaranteed usable dimensions, although a slight overhang is possible.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

A: Basotect® G+ acoustic cubes absorb sound waves three-dimensionally – that is, from all sides simultaneously. Unlike flat wall absorbers, they are effective even when suspended freely in the room and are particularly effective at mid and high frequencies. They are ideal for offices, conference rooms and industrial halls where wall or ceiling space is limited.
A: Acoustic cubes are most effective when positioned in the centre of the room or above areas where noise is generated, e.g. above workstations or meeting tables. In reverberant rooms or large production halls, freely suspended cubes also achieve a noticeable reduction in reverberation. The optimum height is typically between 2.2 and 3 m.
A: Yes. Basotect® G+ is flame-retardant (B1 according to DIN 4102-1), temperature-resistant up to 240 °C and complies with the railway standard EN 45545:2020. This means the material can also be used in industrial halls, technical rooms and safety-critical areas. The low density of approx. 9 kg/m³ facilitates installation and transport.
A: The Basotect® G+ acoustic cubes are available in various standard sizes. Custom sizes can be manufactured on request. For specific projects, we recommend making a direct enquiry via the shop or using the contact form.
