Silphon®acoustic PET panels represent a successful combination of effective sound absorption, modern design and sustainable materials. Manufactured from recycled PET bottles, these robust acoustic panels not only impress with their functionality but also make a valuable contribution to environmental protection. By recycling plastic waste, the consumption of primary raw materials is reduced, whilst at the same time creating a durable, versatile product for professional sound and noise protection.
With a material thickness of 12 mm or 24 mm and a homogeneous fibre structure, the panels possess excellent acoustic properties. Particularly in the mid-frequency range, which is crucial for speech intelligibility and general room comfort, the PET panels demonstrate high absorption performance. They thus make a noticeable contribution to reducing reverberation times, minimising disruptive noise and creating a pleasantly quiet atmosphere. This makes them an ideal solution for offices, conference rooms, educational establishments, restaurants, hotels, studios or public buildings where concentration, intelligibility and comfort are paramount.
The surface of the panels has a subtle texture, giving them a high-quality, modern look. Thanks to a wide colour palette – ranging from neutral greys through elegant black and white to bold accent colours – the panels can be integrated discreetly into existing interior designs or used deliberately as design highlights. Furthermore, the panels can be printed on, die-cut or cut to custom shapes on request, creating virtually unlimited design possibilities.
A key advantage lies in their high fire safety. Silphon® acoustic PET meets the VKF BKZ 5.2 classification, meaning the panels are flame-retardant, produce very little smoke and do not form burning droplets. This makes them suitable for use in areas with heightened safety requirements, such as public buildings or the transport sector.
Installation is as simple as it is flexible: the panels can be used as wall-mounted acoustic absorbers, free-hanging ceiling sails or room-dividing elements. Thanks to modern CNC machining, even complex shapes, patterns or precisely tailored cuts can be produced without difficulty. Their low weight facilitates handling and installation, meaning that even large-scale installations can be carried out economically and efficiently.
Delivery form
The material is supplied as standard in trimmed sheet form and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.
The sheets are supplied in film packaging and must be stored in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct UV light must be avoided.
