Silphon® PUR pyramid foam is a sound absorber with excellent sound absorption properties. The pyramidal surface structure ensures very good, broadband sound absorption. The pyramid foam consists of a fine-pored, flexible polyester foam with an open, air-permeable structure. It is an extremely effective and efficient sound absorber and has an attractive appearance.
With a density of approximately 25 kg/m³, Silphon® offers a balanced ratio of elasticity and stability. It has high thermal resistance and, depending on the version, can be used in temperature ranges from –10 °C to +120 °C. In the self-adhesive version, it can be used up to +75 °C.
The range of applications is extensive: the pyramid foam is used in room acoustics, in sound and voice booths, on test benches, in machine and equipment casings, or for soundproofing power units and ventilation systems. It offers a highly efficient solution, particularly where noise needs to be reduced whilst simultaneously saving weight.
Depending on the version, it is also available in a self-adhesive form, which makes installation on smooth surfaces considerably easier. In all variants, it remains easy to work with: cutting, shaping and fitting can be done without complex tools, allowing it to be flexibly adapted to individual requirements.
Thanks to its unobtrusive colour scheme, the pyramid foam blends discreetly into a variety of environments and is therefore suitable not only for technical applications but also for visible acoustic solutions in interior spaces. It thus represents a balanced combination of function, flexibility and efficiency – a versatile sound absorber that can be reliably used in many areas.
Delivery form
The material is supplied as standard in trimmed sheet form and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.
The sheets are supplied in film packaging and must be stored in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct UV light must be avoided.
