Silphon® PUR trapezoidal profile foam
Silphon® trapezoidal profile foam – precise sound control with a distinctive profile structure
Silphon® trapezoidal profile foams are high-quality acoustic materials made from open-cell polyurethane foam, which enable particularly efficient sound absorption thanks to their trapezoidal surface geometry. The irregular, profiled structure significantly increases the effective sound-absorbing surface area and extends the sound paths within the material. As a result, sound waves are reflected and diffracted multiple times and reliably absorbed within the open cells. The result is broadband sound reduction, which achieves a noticeable improvement in room acoustics, particularly in the mid and high frequency ranges.

Thanks to the combination of material quality and special shaping, the trapezoidal profile foam delivers impressive performance in both architectural and technical applications. In room acoustics, it is used to reduce reverberation times and improve speech intelligibility—ideal for offices, conference rooms, lecture theatres, studios or home cinemas. At the same time, it is used in technical noise protection, for example to line machine housings, power units, ventilation systems or test benches. Here, it ensures significant noise reduction and thus contributes to greater occupational safety, comfort and efficiency.
Thanks to its low weight, Silphon® trapezoidal profile foam is particularly easy to handle, transport and install. It can be cut to size with minimal effort, customised and fitted precisely even on uneven surfaces. This makes it suitable for both standardised solutions and bespoke acoustic and noise protection projects.
The trapezoidal surface not only offers functional advantages but also adds visual interest. It gives rooms a technical, modern look whilst ensuring even sound distribution throughout the space. Thanks to its open-cell structure, the foam is breathable and retains its acoustic properties over the long term. Depending on the application, it can be supplied in various formats and thicknesses to optimally meet requirements for sound absorption, design and surface coverage.
Delivery form
The material is supplied as standard in trimmed sheet form and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.
The sheets are supplied in film packaging and must be stored in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct UV light must be avoided.
