Silphon® PUR Universal Studio Absorber
Silphon® Universal Studio Absorber – versatile, effective and flexible
The Silphon® Universal Studio Absorber is a high-performance acoustic foam made from open-cell polyurethane, designed for precise and balanced sound absorption. Its characteristic, angular profile structure increases the effective surface area and extends the sound path within the material. This causes sound waves to be reflected multiple times and effectively absorbed within the foam. This design makes the absorber particularly efficient in the mid and high frequency ranges – precisely where reverberation, flutter echoes and disruptive reflections are most noticeable.

With a standard size of 300 × 300 × 45 mm, the absorber is compact and versatile. It can be mounted individually or in a modular arrangement on walls and ceilings, making it suitable for both localised sound optimisation and comprehensive acoustic solutions. As the Universal Studio Absorber is shipped without self-adhesive backing, customers enjoy full installation flexibility—whether using adhesive, screw-fixing, or framing systems. This flexibility not only simplifies installation but also enables subsequent adjustment or dismantling, making it ideal for temporary set-ups or mobile studios.
The material itself impresses with its open-cell structure, which combines air permeability with high sound absorption. Thanks to its low weight, the absorber is easy to handle, simple to cut to size and versatile in combination. The angular surface texture also adds visual interest and can be deliberately used as a design element – whether subtly in an understated colour or as a visible design feature in modern interior concepts.
Combining acoustic performance, flexible installation and universal application, the Silphon® Universal Studio Absorber offers a reliable solution for projects that place high demands on sound quality, functionality and design.
Delivery form
The material is supplied as standard in trimmed sheet form and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.
The sheets are supplied in film packaging and must be stored in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct UV light must be avoided.
