The Vibra® glass fibre mat is a high-performance solution for applications where acoustic effectiveness and thermal insulation are required simultaneously. It consists of a high-quality glass fibre fleece laminated on one side with aluminium foil. This combination makes the mat a versatile material that performs well in both noise protection and heat protection – whilst also being robust and durable.

The aluminium lamination plays a key role here: it acts as an efficient heat shield, reliably reflecting radiant heat and protecting both the material itself and adjacent components from overheating. This means the Vibra® glass fibre mat can also be used in areas where temperatures of up to 250 °C may occur, for example in the engine compartment, on exhaust systems or in industrial plant engineering. At the same time, the laminated surface offers protection against dirt and makes cleaning easier, further enhancing its suitability for everyday use.

In addition to its thermal function, the mat impresses with its excellent acoustic properties. The open-pored structure of the glass fibre fleece effectively absorbs sound waves, thereby helping to reduce airborne sound and disruptive noise. In combination with the dense aluminium layer, part of the sound is also reflected, creating a dual effect: damping and a barrier. A noticeable improvement in background noise is particularly evident in frequency ranges typical of machine noise and technical installations.

Its range of applications is diverse: in addition to its traditional use in engine and exhaust systems, the Vibra® glass fibre mat is employed in mechanical and plant engineering, in air-conditioning systems and in silencers, where it meets both thermal and acoustic requirements. Thanks to its flexible workability—whether as a sheet or custom-cut—it can be easily adapted to structural conditions and integrated without difficulty.

Delivery form

The material is supplied as standard in the form of unedged sheets and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut-to-size piece according to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.

The sheets are supplied in film packaging and must be stored in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct UV light must be avoided.
