Vibra® Quash PE foam is a modern, closed-cell insulation material that has been specially developed for use in acoustically demanding and technically challenging environments. Its black, flame-retardant material not only ensures effective sound absorption but also provides reliable protection against moisture, dirt and chemical influences. This makes Vibra® Quash a durable solution for applications where conventional acoustic foam reaches its limits.

The strength of this material lies in its closed-cell structure. This makes the foam virtually impervious to water and dust and prevents liquid from accumulating inside. This makes it particularly suitable for use in environments exposed to splash water, condensation or high humidity – such as in engine rooms, ventilation systems or vehicle compartments. At the same time, acoustic performance remains high: Vibra® Quash reliably absorbs sound waves in the low to mid-frequency range, thereby reducing noise sources that are particularly common in industry and engineering.

Another key advantage is its certified fire protection. The foam is flame-retardant and complies with key standards such as DIN 4102-1 (B1), MVSS 302, UL 94 and EN 45545 for rail vehicle construction, making it suitable not only for traditional industrial and building services engineering, but also for safety-critical applications in vehicles or public facilities.

Its resistance to chemicals, oils and solvents, as well as its high UV and weather resistance (depending on the version), further expand its range of applications. Whether used indoors or outdoors, the foam retains its shape, functionality and reliability, even when exposed to stress over long periods.

Thanks to its robustness and durability, Vibra® Quash has numerous applications: it is used for the encapsulation of machinery and units, for the lining of vehicle cabins and engine compartments, in ventilation and air conditioning ducts, in technical cladding, and in construction projects where sound insulation and protective functions are required in combination. It truly shines in environments where moisture and dirt are unavoidable.

Delivery form

The material is supplied as standard in trimmed sheet form and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.

The sheets are supplied in film packaging and must be stored in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct UV light must be avoided.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

A: Vibra® Quash is made of closed-cell polyethylene (PE), whereas PUR foams are open-cell. PE foam is water-repellent, chemical-resistant and more durable. It is particularly effective at damping structure-borne noise, but absorbs less airborne noise than open-cell PUR foam. Vibra® Quash is therefore particularly suitable for applications where moisture resistance and structure-borne noise damping are key priorities.
A: Vibra® Quash is frequently used as an underlay in industry and vehicle manufacturing: as an impact sound insulator beneath machinery, as an insulating underlay for floors, as a structure-borne sound absorber in vehicles, and as a protective and insulating layer in technical rooms. Its high chemical resistance also makes it suitable for use in laboratories and production facilities.
A: Yes. Vibra® Quash is available in a UV-resistant version suitable for long-term outdoor use. This version withstands sunlight, weathering and temperature fluctuations without losing its acoustic and mechanical properties.
A: Vibra® Quash is available as sheet material in defined standard sizes. Custom cuts to individual dimensions are available on request.
