Vibra® Quash – UV resistance
Vibra® Quash UV – durable PE foam for sound insulation in indoor and outdoor applications
Vibra® Quash UV is a specially developed, closed-cell polyethylene foam which, thanks to its additional UV stabilisation, can be used reliably even in demanding outdoor applications. While conventional foams quickly age or lose their properties when exposed to direct sunlight, Vibra® Quash UV remains permanently dimensionally stable, high-performing and visually appealing. This makes it ideal for projects where weather resistance and sound insulation are equally important.

Vibra® Quash UV is a specially developed, closed-cell polyethylene foam which, thanks to its additional UV stabilisation, can be used reliably even in demanding outdoor applications. While conventional foams rapidly degrade or lose their properties when exposed to direct sunlight, Vibra® Quash UV remains permanently dimensionally stable, high-performing, and visually appealing. This makes it ideal for projects where weather resistance and sound insulation are equally important.
Its robust closed-cell structure makes the foam virtually impervious to water and dirt, preventing moisture or dust particles from penetrating the material and ensuring reliable performance even in damp, salty, or dirty environments. Even under extreme conditions—such as in coastal regions or outdoor technical installations—Vibra® Quash UV stays dimensionally stable and durable. Impressive proof of this is its successful completion of a 2000-hour salt spray test, after which no change in the material structure or acoustic performance could be detected.
The material also delivers strong acoustic performance: Vibra® Quash UV reliably absorbs sound waves in the low to mid-frequency range, which is particularly typical of operational noise from machinery, power units, ventilation systems or vehicles. This makes it ideal for use in machine casings, external housings of air conditioning units, soundproofing hoods for generators, or in the fields of automotive and railway engineering. Wherever disruptive noise needs to be reduced whilst material durability is required, Vibra® Quash UV demonstrates its advantages.
Thanks to its high chemical resistance, it is also resistant to oils, solvents and other substances commonly found in industrial or technical environments. This makes it suitable not only for traditional indoor soundproofing, but also for long-term outdoor applications where weather, chemicals and mechanical stresses come together.
Delivery form
The material is supplied as standard in trimmed sheet form and can also be produced as a custom-fit cut to individual dimensions on request. Precise machining and short lead times enable easy integration into a wide variety of applications.
