novamica® THERMEX – the sealing solution for the most extreme temperature conditions
novamica® THERMEX has been specially developed for extreme thermal requirements and combines the outstanding properties of refined phlogopite mica with the proven expanded metal concept, which is already being successfully used in novaphit® SSTC. This high-performance sealing material is ideally suited for high-temperature applications, particularly for hot gas and exhaust gas applications such as in turbochargers, exhaust systems or industrial heating systems – and that up to temperatures of 1000 °C.

novamica® THERMEX has been specially developed for extreme thermal requirements and combines the outstanding properties of modified phlogopite mica with the proven expanded metal concept, which is already being successfully used in novaphit® SSTC. This high-performance sealing material is ideally suited for high-temperature applications, particularly for hot gas and exhaust gas applications such as in turbochargers, exhaust systems or industrial heating systems – and that up to temperatures of 1000 °C.
Thanks to the composite material consisting of an optimally balanced binder system and a robust expanded metal insert made of stainless steel, novamica® THERMEX achieves exceptionally high internal strength. This combination ensures previously unmatched long-term sealing performance under extreme conditions, even with highly fluctuating thermal loads. At the same time, the expanded metal insert ensures excellent handling and processing properties, making the material easy and safe to work with.
Even complex seal geometries can be precisely manufactured using all standard production processes. novamica® THERMEX thus offers a reliable, durable and cost-effective solution for the most demanding high-temperature applications.
