Hydraulic bushings are among the most efficient damping elements in the field of elastic mounting. They are used wherever both strong vibrations and a broad frequency spectrum occur – typically in engines, driver’s cabs, power units or heavy attachments. Hydraulic bushings have proven their worth for many years, particularly in commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural machinery and pump systems, and are in use in millions of applications.
The operating principle is based on an elastic rubber body combined with a hydraulic damping chamber. This combination enables particularly effective vibration reduction: low-frequency movements are gently cushioned, whilst high-frequency vibrations are effectively damped. This results in very smooth mounting behaviour, significantly reducing noise, vibrations and peak loads.
Hydraulic bushings deliver noticeably quieter operation, especially in engines or cabins subjected to varying loads, irregular vibrations or strong impulses. They not only protect adjacent components from excessive wear but also enhance user comfort and extend the service life of entire machines or vehicles.
Thanks to a variety of designs, Shore hardnesses and hydraulic systems, hydro bushings can be tailored very precisely to the specific application.
