Cellular rubber made of CR/EPDM for sealing and insulation, damming and shock absorption.

This cellular rubber is a CR/EPDM mixture with a density of 130 kg/m³. It is a closed-cell, soft-elastic rubber that is completely impermeable to air and water. This adaptive material is mostly used for sealing, soft positioning, and damping. We offer the CR/EPDM cellular rubber in standard sheets of different thicknesses or in custom dimensions on request. Cellular rubber and sponge rubber are often confused, the difference is due to the different manufacturing processes in the material properties. Sponge rubber has open cells and a dense outer skin. Due to the outer skin, sponge rubber is particularly suitable for applications involving increased mechanical stress and abrasion. However, if the outer skin is damaged by the foam rubber, it can soak up water. Cellular rubber has no outer skin, but cellular rubber has closed cells. Cellular rubber is therefore always water and airtight. Sponge rubber or cellular rubber are foamed rubber qualities (EPDM, SBR, CR, NBR) and can adapt very well to the substrate, which is why they are mainly used for seals
A cellular rubber seals best at a compression of 30% to 50%. Cellular rubber should not be compressed above 50%, as compression above 50% could damage the structure and this can lead to reduced elastic recovery.
The closed cell foams have a different cell structure than open cell foams. In the closed cell foams, each cell is a complete closed sphere containing air in each cell. In contrast to open-cell foams, closed-cell foams do not allow water, moisture and dust to penetrate the cell structure. The closed-cell foam is ideal for sealing, wherever dust and water must be kept away.
The foam standard boards are delivered as untrimmed raw boards. The ordered useful dimensions are guaranteed, protruding material (foam, fleece, SK-foil ecc.) is but possible."
