Silphon® acoustic cylinder Basotect® G+ light grey for excellent sound absorption properties over a broad spectrum.

The Silphon® acoustic cylinders are made of Basotect® G+ light grey melamine resin foam. Thanks to its low weight of approx. 9kg/m3, it is easy to install without any major effort. The Silphon® acoustic cylinders have very good sound absorption properties over a wide spectrum. A further plus point is the fulfillment of the fire protection standard according to DIN 4102 / B1 as a result Basotect is a flame-retardant material and also achieves above-average results in surface insulation and thermal insulation. The standard dimensions of the acoustic cylinders are 1000 mm long with a diameter of 150 mm. On washes, we can also produce customer-specific dimensions with our "swiss made" processing. The Silphon® acoustic cylinders can be easily mounted on the ceiling with the Vibra® suspension system or by means of hooks and nylon thread. You can find further information in our online-shop!

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Sound attenuation can be understood as the prevention of sound spreading through the absorption of airborne sound. The sound energy is converted into inaudible oscillation waves during sound absorption and as a result the reflection at a boundary surface is reduced. The acoustics within the room are improved and the noise is reduced.

In the mid to high frequency range, the existing furnishings of the room have a great influence on the reverberation time (sofa, carpet, curtains etc. are also absorbers). The use of additional porous absorbers can be useful in some places, but can also have a (very) fast negative effect and lead to a dull sound without natural dynamics. The upper frequency range is often already damped sufficiently well by the typical living room furnishings even before a planned optimisation of the room acoustics. With any acoustic measures, the main focus should generally be on the lower frequency range. Here a good and sufficient absorption is much more difficult to achieve

Basotec? melamine foam has the BKZ 5.2 (hardly inflammable with medium smoke formation)

Our melamine foams Basotect? meet both of these requirements in equal measure, highly sound-absorbing and with very good thermal insulation properties.

Small air inclusions or blowholes on the foam top of Bastotec laminate foams can occur and are created during production. Unfortunately these cannot be prevented. However, the air inclusions have no influence on the absorption capacity.

The melamine foam standard panels are supplied as untrimmed raw panels. The ordered usable dimensions are guaranteed, but protruding material (foam, fleece, SK-foil etc.) is possible.
